Zodiac Extreme Digital BT is a so-called hybrid radio, offering the user both analog and digital functionality. In analog mode, the user gets the standard features such as 7 analog channels, pilot tones, etc. When switching to digital mode via the menu, a wide range of new features and possibilities become available. These include 14 digital channels, clear and noise-free audio, as well as improved perceived range and better battery life.

Digital use requires that the receiving party also has a hunting radio that supports digital communication and follows the Swedish DMR hunting radio standard. Zodiac Extreme Digital BT complies with this Swedish digital hunting radio DMR standard. This standard is followed by several hunting radio manufacturers on the Swedish market, meaning that digital hunting radios adhering to this standard are compatible with each other regardless of brand.

Through their dealer, hunters can customize the radio via programming with a number of additional features useful for hunting teams, such as channel encryption, a digital phonebook, and alarm functions.
