The successor to the hugely successful and world-renowned IC-7300 builds on a legacy of quality with improved performance and new features—setting a new standard for HF Communication.
The original IC-7300 revolutionized the market with its RF direct sampling system, making advanced SDR technology accessible to a wider audience. The IC-7300MK2 takes this innovation to the next level with enhanced features that will delight both new and experienced operators.
Improved Performance for Better Signal
At the core of the IC-7300MK2’s improvements are significant upgrades to the receiver and transmitter.
Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range (RMDR) has been improved to approximately 105 dB (at 2 kHz separation).
Transmit phase noise has been improved by about 12 dB (at 1 kHz frequency separation).
These enhancements mean cleaner and quieter signals for both reception and transmission, making it easier to hear weak signals and ensuring your transmitted signal is free from unwanted noise.
The new model also features lower heat generation and power consumption. Through careful component selection and DC power optimization, the IC-7300MK2 maintains stable operation over long periods—perfect for contests or extended use. Power consumption in RX standby has been reduced to just 0.7 A, compared to 0.9 A in the previous model.
Major New Features for Enhanced Usability and Flexibility:
HDMI™ Port for External Display: For the first time on Icom’s HF/50 MHz transceivers, an HDMI port allows connection to a large external monitor. You can display key information such as spectrum scope, waterfall display, and settings menus on a bigger screen for better visibility and a more immersive experience.
RX Antenna Connectors: The addition of dedicated RX antenna connectors opens new possibilities for optimizing reception. Operators can connect separate receive antennas to avoid interference and noise (QRN), or integrate external bandpass filters and amplifiers to fine-tune their setup.
Built-in CW Decoder: A valuable feature for CW enthusiasts—the new built-in CW decoder simplifies operation by decoding incoming signals directly on the display.
Simplified Remote Control with RS-BA1: Icom’s RS-BA1 remote control software has been streamlined with the addition of an Ethernet port. This enables remote operation of the radio without needing a computer at the base station—making remote operation easier than ever.
USB Type-C™ with Dual COM + Audio: A modern and versatile USB Type-C port replaces the previous USB connection, offering dual COM ports and audio functionality for smooth data and audio transfer.
