The BL-49 is a balun with a transmission ratio of 1:49, which is particularly suitable for building end-fed half-wave antennas (aka End fed Half Wave, EFHW).
End-fed half-wave antennas (EFHW) are very popular because they are easy to hang. With such a 1:49 balun, one can realise different designs for an EFHW antenna, for example mono-band or also multi-band antennas for the bands that are resonant to each other.
The radiation of an EFHW antenna is similar to that of a dipole. The antenna can be suspended as a sloper, angled as an inverted-V or inverted-L, or straight and parallel to the ground.
Frequency Range: 1.8 - 30 MHz, antenna tuner required.
Transformer Ratio: 49:1
Feedline Impedance (Ω): 50 Ohm
Max. Power: 200W SSB (50 W Data)
Connector: SO-239 – UHF female
