The world's first handheld VHF marine radio that can be charged via USB socket. Standard Horizon is at the forefront of marine electronics development and is proud to offer the first handheld marine radio with USB charging. Thanks to USB charging technology, finding a suitable charger has never been easier. The new ultra-compact, high-capacity 1650 mAh 3.7-volt lithium-ion battery offers a very compact housing and is still so light that the radio floats if it falls into the water. Finding the dropped radio is facilitated by a large bright red flashing strip along the bottom of the front panel which is activated when the radio comes into contact with water. Another advantage is that the flashing strip is also activated even when the radio is switched off.
The HX300E is waterproof according to the IPX-8 standard (1.5 meters in 30 minutes). Standard Horizon is so confident in the quality that it provides a 3-year water safety guarantee.
When there is no charge, you can use the dry battery cartridge FBA-44 which uses 3 AAA alkaline batteries.
The HX300E has large keys and a backlit display that shows icons for battery level, charge, noise reduction and volume. The HX300 has 'E2O' (Easy To Operate) menu system which means that all setting functions are easily set which facilitates the user.
Channel names can be set to facilitate reading. Programmable scanning, priority scanning and double / triple monitoring ensure that you do not miss an important call.
A preset key allows you to quickly select 10 of the most frequently used channels.
